2010 World Cup mascot Zakumi

What can we say about him? First, one thing is clear: Zakumi will be the first to jump to the dancefloor and last off the biggest party the world, the FIFA World Cup South Africa 2010. All he wants is to dance and entertain as many people as possible. It is an animator for fans, players and officials, for children, youth and those who are no longer so.
Needless to say, is extremely proud to be the Official Mascot and is committed to becoming the perfect host for all visiting his beloved country. The tremendous confidence he has in himself, his great dignity, his hospitable nature, love and showing affection, and it's sociable and friendly, make him the ideal representative of South Africa and the rest of Africa.
Zakumi is very confident and he's a bold, spontaneous and quite clever. It is pure joy! I love acting on stage and always follow your instincts and intuition, although at times a little shop to exaggeration. Sometimes you can see by occasional horseplay and teasing people, but always with great sympathy, without malice. He is very loving and kind, and what is actually seeking to make many friends.
He loves to play ball, because it seemed the best way to meet others and break down language barriers. Always carry a soccer ball, which serves to invite people to play with him.
Zakumi loves football. On one occasion he decided to dye his hair green as he thought it would be the perfect camouflage against the grass of the field, something like his spots to hunt in the jungle.
But he has a weakness. As his energy, he needs frequent rests. Sometimes, suddenly falls asleep on stage between performances, and moments least expected. But in reality it is only short breaks that a leopard of his caliber needs to recharge the batteries.
In recent years he has traveled throughout Africa, where leopards are at home, not just on the plains of the savannas, forests and jungles, but also in mountainous areas and even deserts. A across the African continent, has learned to adapt to new environments and was able to enjoy all its natural diversity and the people who populate.
Zakumi is a compound name. It is formed by the syllable "ZA" stands for South Africa, and the word "kumi", which means '10 ' several African languages.
Zakumi has set a clear goal: to make the World Cup 2010 FIFA into one huge, unforgettable, full of joy and happiness, and manifest the love, warmth and character of the African continent to the thousands of guests that come to their country from around the world.
"He wants to create a good atmosphere, where reigns good mood among fans, and encourage the FIFA World Cup 2010, the first to be held on African soil. It is a proud South African and wants to get the world will come together in this country, "explained Lucas Radebe, South African football icon and large friend of Zakumi.
